Individualised Academic Support (IAS)
Individual Academic Support is designed for students who need flexible, ongoing guidance tailored to their academic programme, deadlines, and workload. It offers personalised support for students navigating the realities of English-medium higher education.
When IAS is the right option
IAS is suitable for students whose needs don’t fit neatly into a fixed course structure, or who would benefit from continuity and flexibility across the academic year.
- You are working towards specific academic deadlines or assessments
- You are enrolled in an English-medium programme and need ongoing support
- Your focus changes during the term (writing, reading, exams, planning)
- You want support that adapts week by week
- You prefer a personalised, consultative approach
What IAS can support
Support is shaped around the student’s academic context and may include work on areas such as:
- Academic writing and structured feedback
- Reading strategies and research support
- Study planning, workload management, and organisation
- Exam or assessment preparation
- Transition into English-medium study
- Understanding academic expectations and feedback
How IAS works
IAS is built around the student’s programme, timeline, and priorities. Sessions are planned collaboratively and may focus on different areas as needs evolve across the term or academic year.
Session frequency is flexible, and materials are drawn from structured academic frameworks while remaining responsive to real coursework, assessments, and deadlines. This allows support to remain both rigorous and practical.
IAS and the course series
While the Academic English, Exam Preparation, and Study Skills series follow a defined six-week structure, Individual Academic Support offers greater flexibility for students who need ongoing or more responsive support.
Next step
Individual Academic Support always begins with a short consultation. This allows us to discuss academic goals, current challenges, and timelines, and to decide whether IAS is the most appropriate form of support.
